Performance
Stable name Willy, Longdean Westminster has now been sold to a wonderful home in Lancashire. He will continue to be used as a breeding stallion by his new owners Mr & Mrs Cornthwaite at www.bowlandirishdraughthorses.co.uk. Westhills Stud will also continue breeding from Longdean Westminster and youngstock are always available at the stud. Willy is a BWBS and SHB(GB) graded hanoverian stallion at stud. In 2002 He became champion sporthorse of the UK making his foals fully eligible for registration papers with two breed societies. His father, the famous hanoverian stallion Weltmeyer, is the most important stallion in modern sport horse breeding. With an enormous tally of graded sons, high priced progeny and advanced status siblings this tally cannot be matched by any other. His dam, Golfspiel, is a sate premium mare who has produced progeny who have competed at advanced level. Her sire Golfstrom is a Grand Prix stallion who was a representative in the gold medal winning German team at the European Games. Longdean Westminster is proving to be a dual purpose stallion. At the stallion grading for jumping ability the judge commented on his powerful hind legs that propel him athletically forward enabling him to bascule powerfully in a classic correct technique over obstacles. Longdean Westminster is very used to the limelight. From the age of 5 years old he has been gaining high scores and swiftly progressed to advanced level at the early age of 6 years. Before British Database ceased trading he was positioned second on the BHD top ten young sires by own winnings. He currently has over 400 BD points and has been competing at Grand Prix level for a year. In 2004 he successfully represented Great Britain at International Level. He finds all the movements easy, he excels in his extended trot, which he regularly scores a 9 from the Judges. Westminster is himself a very capable show jumper, making him a popular dual purpose stallion, all his young stock has strong correct conformation, good above average active movement with attractive heads and well set on necks, but above all else they have proved to carry his amazing temperament. |
